Whats the status of the camera for cm9? Any hope? Breakthroughs?

I don't think anyone is really working on it right now.

I may be mistaken, but I don't know of anyone

tj_style is working on getting the camera working for a similar phone, so we may be able to use that, or parts of it if he gets it working. That's the status as far as I know.

Thats really depressing, i love this rom and so does everyone else i know, but the only problem is the camera, i know this can get the camera, just like cm7, but im not a developer and i dont know any knowledge of how to, so itd be amazing for everybody if you guys started working on it harder, id appreciate it a whole great lot

Well, the devs all do this for free in their own free time, so things happen when they happen. Yeah it would be nice, but don't expect someone to spend hours upon ours trying to figure it out unless they really feel like they want to.

if i had the money, id donate for a camera... cm9 is awesome. but the camera would make it perfect for a daily

Well, if tj_style gets the other device working, we may be able to use that to get ours in order. So there is definitely some hope. Just be patient.

I thought I saw it just mentioned in the developer thread that the camera preview was working, but the pictures takes were of poor quality.

Yeah, which means it isn't working properly yet. But there is hope. Sorry I didn't specify it more clearly.

are the drivers for the camera different in cm9 than cm7? if so. then maybe thats the problem for the hdmi..
