hotspot...wifi? (AT&T)

    Last I checked kitkat was on its way too you guys and boot loader locked hardcore hopefully someone correct me

    If you bought it unbranded not from att then you are good to go

    Na, I bought it from circuit city, isn't there a way to Chk on the phone?

    Does it have an at logo or does it go into Odin mode?

    Settings > General > About Device. Then look at the model #, Android Version, and baseband.

    Give that info and I can tell you if it's rootable or not.

    4.4.2 is KitKat.
    4.3 was the last version of Jelly Bean.

    Your issue is your unlimited data plan, I believe.

    Good luck getting the hotspot enabled.

    Not able to root that version. :(

    So the only real option I know of to get the hotspot is to change your plan to one of those that have it included. Which means losing unlimited data.

    Don't know if that's worth it to you or not.

    Take your phone and Switch to tmobile. Att will bleed you dry.

    What's that have to do with the OP's issue? I switched the other way around and am much happier with AT&T.

    Well that sucks, I guess I'll have to go back to my iPhone

    I'm glad I found out before the note 4 came out & I sold my iPhone

    I have no idea whether the note 4 (on AT&T) will be rootable or not.
