Anyone have any idea if the sim slot in a 3G version is usable abroad?

I hear of travellers going into mobile stores and buying sim cards with a certain amount of data pre-paid. Would this work, or is Verizon compatability in Europe almost no existant (as apposed to GSM with AT&T)?

I will only guess that as a CDMA device, it will not have the radio frequencies compatible with European carriers. The SIM slot is only for the LTE, and doesn't make it GSM. It's not being advertised as an "international" device like Verizon's world phones. May be stuck with WiFi only in Europe.
