I know this sounds really novice, but I have a cabin in the woods (lucky me) where I get almost no mobile phone reception, but excellent high speed Internet (yes, it's magic). While here, I'd like to use my wireless connection for as many Droid activities as possible. I know I can use wireless for web apps, but can I use it for voice, sms, etc? Is there some sort of converter app I can use to get at least some things? Like I'm not getting pics from friends...can I somehow tap into my more powerful Internet connection to go get that?
    Thanks!

Hi. Welcome to Android Forums. :)

Yes, there are SMS apps you can use such as this one Handcent SMS or GO SMS Pro but for go SMS pro you need to download Go launcher Ex. And for voice, there's this. Google Voice As for not getting pics it could be with the signal strength out there.

Hello and welcome to Android Forums! :)

Who's your carrier? AT&T has something called a MicroCell and Verizon calls it a Network Extender, which pretty much functions as a mini cell tower connected to your network and works over broadband. They have limited range, but then so does wifi.

My carrier is Verizon. I'll check out the Network Extender. Thanks.
