How can tell if phone being tracked

    Location is turned off and still indicator is on

    If you are connected to the internet or you have a functioning sim card, you could be tracked too.

    It's this little property code called an IP address, so wherever you're getting your data from it needs a address to send it to. Now it doesn't matter if your location is turned off or not because as soon as your device connected with a data feed your personal IP address will be found.

    While all the above is true ... both carriers and networks are "tracking" you ... they most likely are only paying attention for billing your usage. And while it may be a fairly simple process to triangulate your general location based on cell towers or network nodes, that information is not very useful. Every time you use the internet you are in effect publishing your IP address to the endpoint.

    I think you are referring to GPS tracking, which a completely different animal. Even if you have location off, you might have apps that you've granted permission to use your location which will turn on your radio and check. That's probably why you see the icon.
