    Trying to avoid going deaf!

I want to be able to reduce the call alert volume when I have headphones plugged in without remembering to lower the alert volume before I plug in.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

Yeah you can use AudioManager, but I think he's looking for some way to automate it. I'd like something that did that too. I tried that Tasker app but no luck there.

Hold the stausbar/notification blind and use the volume rocker as normal.

EDIT: I think this only works in apps and not with the default music player.

Actually there's an app called Toggle Settings which can switch to another profile with new volume settings when an earphone is plugged in. And it's all automate.
