Whenever you flash a rom you should do it, if your rooted theres an app you can download that one click called battery calibration

It doesnt give you longer battery life. It helps give you a more accurate reading which the reading can become off after flashing and such. You can wipe battery stats in cwr by going to advance>wipe battery stats, or by using root explorer and going to data>systems and deleting batterystats.bin or I use Battery Calibration

Don't forget to make sure the phone is fully charged and plugged in when you do this. After wiping the stats and booting the phone you can unplug. You also do not plug the phone back in until is has drained and turned off if you want an accurate reading.
