I just got a Galaxy S, I syncd my gmail contacts because I thought it would be easier to just add my old contacts on the computer than type them in via the phone.

Now when I go to create a text message and click on the contacts tab I see dozens of emails I dont know which take a long time to scroll through, this is because my gmail account was used to send spam awhile ago and for some stupid reason it added all the emails from the sent folder. These emails are not in the contact book so I cant figure out how to delete them. I emptied my sent folder in gmail and resyncd but that didnt help.

Is there a way to delete these or reset all my contacts to 0 so I can resync?

Log onto your Gmail account and at the top left, it should say "Contacts"

Click that, find whatever category they are listed under (I think in this case, probably "Other Contacts") and go through and delete all e-mails listed that you do not recognize.
