How do I fix my WiFi?

    Hey, I'm new here. :)

    My Samsung Galaxy Note GT-N7000 wont connect to my router. I'm with Virgin Media and this has been going on for about a month now. Every time I try to scan for a network, it keeps on scanning endlessly. Even when I manually add a network, it says 'failed to connect' or something like that, and under the network it says 'not in range'. However, about a week or 2 ago, I was at relative's house, and it worked fine there, but I found that if I moved the Samsung ever so slightly, it would lose connection. That was the case here[in my house] a few days ago too, but then it stopped connecting again and hasn't connected since.

    I noticed that it says the MAC address is unavailable if that helps.

    Now to add to the problem, I can't even turn my WiFi on, every time I tap the WiFi button to turn it on, it says 'Turning on...' and just stays like that, it doesn't turn on at all.

    I've been look for solutions for ages but none have worked, so sorry about posting a question that has already been asked before. :S

    I am sorry to hear of the trouble you are having with your wifi. It is beginning to sound to me like you have an actual hardware problem. Has your device taken any tumbles and maybe knocked something loose inside?

    I don't have that device and am not familiar with it, but perhaps the folk in this forum will have some insight into your problem.

    Welcome aboard , for the connection via your phone to the router ,its actually a problem with your router it self maybe the configuration is not right or maybe there's no internet connection going to the router. As for the WiFi button a simple restart of the phone should fix it or if that don't take you can ask for help here http://androidforums.com/samsung-galaxy-note/ Please let us know if we can help you find something in particular while you are here, Thanks for joining the team.

    I agree with dustwun on this. It certainly sounds like a hardware problem [with the phone] as opposed to a wireless or router problem, because you were able to connect to your relative's wifi AND if you moved the phone you'd lose your connection. So it's capable of connecting, but it sounds like something is loose in it and that's causing you to lose your connection. I think at home it's purely coincidence that you're not able to connect--maybe try moving the phone around and see if it connects. But I'm betting on a loose...something.
