Help How do i get back my data?

• I formatted my SD card as internal storage a while ago, then i transferred all my data and apps onto that which freed up a lot of space on my internal. I was happy for sometime with no problems, then I found out that every time I turn the phone off or the battery comes off the SD card gets corrupted. But the problem gets resolved every time by continuously powering off and restarting the phone and clearing the app data on the phone.But this one time i dropped my phone and the battery came off and as usual i thought that my SD card would show corrupted but this time the SD card was getting recognized and showed it was working and also showed the space occupied by the data.But i cannot access any of the data nor the apps which were in the card anymore. pls help.
