how do i get free themes?

I have seen a few sites that have awesome free themes but when I click it gives about a hundred different download options, all of which when I try it says download unsuccessful, so how do I get these themes on my acclaim? I have figured out how to get the free themes on the market to work but they suck! I don't like the pandahome app for themes, so I used my browser to find some, but these are the ones that won't work. Help?!

I'm willing to bet the themes you're looking at are custom ROMs, which means the device has to be rooted in order to load and run these custom ROMs.

My best advice is to use OpenHome or ADW Launcher if you don't like PandaHome.
