How do i install a new firmware ?

    My htc desire on 3 network says im running the latest software but its only on 2.2. is there another way i can install new or differnt firmware on it and with a guide showing me how would be great.

    im on 3 network uk

    i think you can get the latest from HTC's website. I believe its an RUU.

    Just had a quick look on htcdev but can't see the desire one.
    Have a look on this forum see if anyone else has posted.
    I'm sure someone has.

    You can get the 2.3 update RUU from shipped-roms. Will post the link when I'm on a computer rather than phone. Or Google shipped-roms then select android and phone model is Bravo (not Desire, which was HTC's codename for a different handset as well as the release name for the Bravo!).

    PS. As it's an RUU it will wipe the phone. And you can't go back easily, so do make sure you know what to expect first (will be old threads discussing it here).
