    menu>settings>applications>development

    tick "USB debugging"

now plug your phone up to your computer. wait a few seconds. now pull the notification window down, select "USB connected" then hit the button in the new window that opens which mounts your phone.

now on your computer, just make a folder inside of the mounted drive and throw your music in there. do similar for movies and you're good to go. now select "USB connected" from your notification window drop down again, then in the window disconnect.

if you ever want to launch Kies with your phone, be sure to un-tick "USB debugging"

edit: also Welcome to Android :)

no, it's not just you. some people have trouble with Kies here so i was letting OP, and others, know a way to do it without Kies launching/running on your phone or computer.

but yes, you can do it with Kies. really no explanation needed for that, except download Kies i suppose.

oh good. yeah, its the same thing. if the kies connection works alright for u, i find it connects to my computer much faster than the USB debug method. just dont use the kies software unless u really want to :D its quite bad :)
