Help How do I reclaim phone storage memory! help

Hey everyone-

I've read in another thread steps to free up phone memory and have done most of them - minus my Gmail. I have about 10-15 apps installed and there's no way they could take up 500MB - as it says I'm low on memory now @ 42MB. I use App2SD and clear the caches regularly, deleted old text messages, etc but there must be something more that's taking up memory....?

Also, How do I purge old GMAIL messages form my phone? and how do I reclaim my phone storage??
