How do I shut up Google navigation while I am on the phone?

Here's the scenario. Google maps is navigating me to my destination. Pandora is playing music. The Razr Maxx is plugged inline to my car radio so the music and directions are coming over my car speakers. I take a phone call and Pandora goes mute but google maps keeps talking during my phone call. Even if I disconnect from the car radio and hold the phone to my ear, google navigation keeps talking. How do I shut up Google navigation while I am on the phone?

Thank you for the suggestions. I was more wanting to know if there was a setting that I missed that shut it up during a phone call. I know I can mute it but by the time I hit all those buttons I'll have missed the call.

While on a call...
Swipe down the notification bar.
Touch the navigation notification.
Touch Menu.
Select "turn off voice".
That's not something I want to do whilst driving. I'd prefer others on the same roads as I also to not do this distracting thing.

It would be fine if Maps didn't speak on the Bluetooth headpiece, drowning out the caller.

I tend to agree with you, but the next person would complain because Navigation went mute while on a call and they missed a turn. It's a classic no-win for Google.

That's interesting. With GB my phone and Bluetooth would play music and navigation during a phone call; however, since ICS it will not play music or navigation while in a phone call for me. Kind of frustrating as I enjoyed listening/watching YouTube, music, and navigation when I was on certain calls.

This is why check-boxes, radio buttons, and drop-down boxes are a wonderful thing! P.T. Barnum didn't have those. ;)
