    Maybe im missing something?

You can do a backup from within Rom Manager, Also from within Recovery

But if i do a backup in Rom Manager, it wont help me if im in a bootloop right? Because i have no way to enter Rom Manager

So i do backups within Recovery also. But i dont see a way to name, or label them.

Does anyone have a good system worked out other than keeping notes on a notepad? lol

    Thanks

When you do a backup in ROM Manager it is actually a recovery (nand) backup so you do have access in recovery if you are dead. RM is the best way to go since it does let you name them where recovery does not.

    Thank you that sounds perfect.

Lets say in case of emergency i need to flash one of my RM backups. How do i access them from recovery? I have been through the emergency process and dont recall seeing any of the ones i named in my list. Just the Recovery backups were there

NEVER change the names of your nandroids it has been known to cause issues. Your Rom Manager backups and backups made in Clockwork Mod Recovery are the SAME thing. Rom Manager is just an interface that kind of simplifies the process but it still uses Clockwork to make the backup.

To access your backups, you boot into Recovery and select the backup/restore option and then select restore and then select the available backups that you have saved on your SD card.
