Well clearly the first is correct, as it's how we Brits say it. But as it's an American lady saying the word, I'm confused.
The 2nd one is the right way
apparently both are correct.
It's derived from the French "azur" (think of La Côte d'Azur), and as the first is close to the French while the second nothing like it, on grounds of etymology I think the first has to be judged correct.
I just found this great site from Cambridge dictionary which pronounces UK and US versions of words.
Nevertheless I think both are still incorrect as there's no H in ashur
As- zuere is how I pronounce it..
And that spelled-out pronunciation made me think of King Ahasuerus, whose name has a pronunciation variant of azure right in the middle of it.
As- zure is best pronounce for azure.
