my phone is rooted
You need a kernel that supports over clocking, as of yet the Volt doesn't have one.
Not entirely true.
This has been successfully compiled into the CM12 ROM.
I tried pulling the boot img from that ROM and installing it on stock system, which failed miserably.
Bottom line, CM12 has OC, but no one has made a stock OC kernel yet. :/
BTW- since you're rooted and are asking root related questions, you need to start posting in the All Things Root forum.
Also, congrats on rooting your phone. The Win8 tablet worked then?
I figured since he mentioned that he was only rooted he was just referring to overclocking stock
He could install the CM12 ROM though, if he wants OC bad enough. I just added more info to your response.
I would like to see someone compile a stock OC kernel, we have the information.
I'm working on a kernel right now actually, not sure how it will turn out but I'll give it my best shot
you da man.
btw... what is a kernal and is it applied by a reflash?/ erasing everything
The kernel is the brain of the OS. You'll just flash it with Flashify, no data loss.
Please post here to let me know how itturns out. Or is there a way to follow you...
