The Eris is just as much a computer as your home PC. Conversation is mostly geeky performance tips and help sorting out glitches... but that sort of conversation becomes stale if you have a perfectly working Eris like myself!

Cutting to the chase, I'm simply looking for pictures of the damage done to your slippery handsets. I ask because I decided to live without my rubbery, chunky otterbox case. Always gets caught up in my pocket, and everyone and their mother is using a case on their iphone/droid. Seriously. Even my mother and mother's mother have cases. Out with the cases!

mine has fallen a few times onto the tile floor from about 4-5 feet. I also dropped mine on the concrete while juggling keys and navigating it... thought it was going to break somehow, but it did fine. the only part the scratched on the body was the portion by the USB that isn't protected by my clear Zagg screen protector (full body).

the screen will definitely scratch, I just got a nice 1cm scratch on my screen 3 weeks after I took the protective screen off... believing claims of others. eh oh well. it is only noticeable in dark colors, or screen off mode.

I've gone without my case and screen protectors for a few months. My screen did end up with a small scratch, but it was not noticeable while using the phone.

The Eris' screen is not, however, resistant to dropping it on a small cobble path. (See picture) Amazingly the screen and all of the function buttons (even the search) still work. Taking it in today to get it replaced though.

Other pictures of scratches to the casing are from clumsily dropping it during a night out... Scuffed the edges a little and some of the silver coating on the usb port scraped off.

I used a case and screen protector for about the first month of owning my Eris. One day I decided to just take those off and I haven't gone back. I love my naked, natural Eris. :)
