Hi all, I am starting to use Phonegap 0.90 and Eclipse 3.52 to build my simple apps.

I sell apps on iTunes and now want to build them for Android. I set off the build and the following is seen in the console:

    [2010-07-26 15:37:10 - MyApp] ------------------------------
    [2010-07-26 15:37:10 - MyApp] Android Launch!
[2010-07-26 15:37:10 - MyApp] adb is running normally.
    [2010-07-26 15:37:10 - MyApp] Performing com.mycompany.myapp.MyApp activity launch
[2010-07-26 15:37:10 - MyApp] Automatic Target Mode: launching new emulator with compatible AVD 'my_avd'
    [2010-07-26 15:37:10 - MyApp] Launching a new emulator with Virtual Device 'my_avd'
    [2010-07-26 15:37:13 - MyApp] New emulator found: emulator-5554
[2010-07-26 15:37:13 - MyApp] Waiting for HOME ('android.process.acore') to be launched...

Now this is quite a simple app, it is now 18:05 so we have been running for 2hrs 30 mins.

The emulator has fired up, displaying Android, but not responding to clicks, nothing in the error log.

To run this in the browser takes a second or a few seconds on my iPod with my Mac. I am using XP here.

I know these apps take some time but how long should I be waiting ???

Is there anything I can do to optimize Eclipse?

The emulator has loaded but looks like this (see attachment).

It is still running away there while I am working on something else (been around 7 hours now).

Android hasn't started up properly in the emulator.

It can be a bit slow sometimes, but if you're waiting more than a few minutes then something is obviously wrong and there's no point in waiting any longer.

Rather than leaving it for 7 hours you'd be better off trying again, re-installing, or carrying out some further investigation. Other people have had similar problems with emulator startup times, and there will be discussions on this forum as well as others.

It should only takea few minutes to boot the emulator. Try reinstalling the AVD or restarting it.
