    My Incredible arrives tomorrow (finally!).

How much memory does it have for installed apps?

I've been going through appbrain and already have selected 41 apps for 57MB and I'm just getting started.

    What's the limit?

When Froyo comes out, we can install apps to the SD card? Will that allow us to install more apps?

I've read that we have 512mb for apps, but the new release (sorry, I should have said "allegedly") will allow us to save them on our SD card as well, making them pretty infinate.

IIRC there's around 404 megs we can use now, though the phone has more that should be accessible soonish. Also, yes...with Froyo you should be able to install to the SD card, so plenty of room there.

Basically, you're looking at enough room for too many apps, at around 400 depending on each apps size. Now, having 400 apps would likely cause other issues, so I do not recommend installing that many:)

But they originally said they only partitioned or allocated about 512mb for apps.

Only 512MB of that is allocated for app storage.

However I have 73 apps installed, and it only uses up 89MB of my app storage space.

Based on what everyone has said in this thread, you can't use all of that for apps.

My bad. I'm still learning. I would've editted, but I couldn't save the edit on my EnV Touch. Mine needs to hurry up and ship!

it has 748 mb for storage on mine at least and 512 ram but only sees like 404 of it right now.

Thanks all. Seems like I won't have to worry about too many apps anytime soon.

I just recently filled my Touch Pro to capacity. So happy to be leaving Windows Mobile for Android.

Space wise you won't into any issues. However, I have read in other posts that once you get above 80 or so apps, the phone gets wonky. Several different people have reported this issue. I'm only running about 60 or so apps, so I haven't seen the issue myself.

Ah, but what is the question?

To clarify, updating to Froyo will not automatically allow apps to be installed to external media. The decision on whether or not an app is installable to the sd card is ultimately up to the dev's of the individual apps.

Would you sync with appbrain and post your installed list please? I kind of don't believe you. :p
