I've heard about the 256 mb internal storage, and it sounds like it may limit... how many apps do you all have, and what are the sizes? has anybody gone over the limit yet? What are they doing to fix this problem, or is it not meant to be fixed? These are very important questions, so I can decide whether to invest in the Droid or something else (probably still android os but not sure if it's an android problem)

The larger apps are in the 2 to 3 megabyte range... So figure you can have well over a hundred apps on the phone with no issue.

Most of the apps are smaller than this with VERY few over this so its a very conservative estimate to say that you could have 100 apps on the device. Not to mention that the number 1 requested feature on Android is the ability to install applications to the SD card... Not that you'd want to unless you had to as they would be slower from there.

You get 30 days to decide if you want to keep it... Just go buy the thing and figure it out for yourself if it will work for you.

My friend has a Hero and he has about 65 apps with a little over 150 mb left of onboard memory. dude that's a lot of apps. You can get a file manager app where you can swap apps between your SD card and internal memory. The only thing you can't do is run the app via SD card.

Have 25 apps. One being 6mb but that is very rare. Most 1mb or well under and I still have 221mb left. I am taking it slow.lol

I might have most everyone beat..167 apps:eek:.. about 25 or so are font/icon/theme packs. I have 66.8 mb of onboard mem. free in the phone. My internal mem. runs average 65-75 mb(with the use of a task killer to periodically kill what I don't need running). My Droid still runs very well with no noticeable extra lag.
