On IOS it is about five.

I think on android it is just one. I have tried otherwise (S6 phone + T705 tablet) but it didn't work; it said it is already installed.

Obviously one can get around this with rooting it and using Titanium Backup (etc) to do a backup+restore, but don't some apps check via the internet how many installs were done?

I need to clone a S6 to S7, but keep the S6 as a backup.

    More than 4 anyway ;)

Just make sure that when you click on the button, you install it to the correct device. Install really means installed on one device, so click on it and pick the next device you want to install it on.

I have numerous phones and tablets and I install my paid apps on every single one. You should be able to install them on as many devices you want as long as the gmail account is connected to the device
