If you haven't used a Samsung phone or even an Android phone before, you might get a little bit confused with how to answer the phone when a call comes in. You'll see something like this at the bottom of your screen when you receive a call on the Galaxy S20 Ultra:

    • To answer the call, tap the green phone icon and swipe right
    • To decline the call, tap the red phone icon and swipe left
    • To send the caller a message instead, swipe up on the "Send message" option at the bottom

  2. Sorry to jump into this thread so late, but I have a Samsung S20 FE phone. When the phone rings, the "phone screen" does not pop up over the lock screen so I can answer the phone as described above.

To answer the phone, I have to double tap the screen (hitting the power button only silences the ringing), enter my pin (I don't use the fingerprint sensor for various reasons), and then I have to tap the "Phone" app icon to get to where I can swipe to answer the call. If I'm not quick enough, then the call goes over to voicemail.

In every Android phone I've had prior to this one (really old Samsung and, most recently, a series of Google Nexus/Pixel phones), when the phone rings, the phone answer screen will pop up over the lock screen so I could quickly answer the phone.

Do I have something set up wrong? What do I need to do to get that old functionality back?

    Any help would be appreciated!

PS. It is very useful for anyone to be able to easily ANSWER a phone call without having to get pass the lock screen, in case you lose the phone an call it to see if anyone will answer it. Not to mention so that other family members can answer the phone in your place.
