    Hey all
I got an IMAP account that is set up with my Galaxy S2. I can't find an area where I can set the delete to delete the mail off the server. Everything I've found so far talks about going to the Account section under application management, but only popular accounts are detailed there (yahoo, google, etc). There are no such options under the account settings for that type of email account.
    Any help?
    Thanks
    Alan

IMAP should delete off the server by default. Are you saying that it's not doing so for you?

No. If I delete a mail from the phone, it shows as deleted and disappears off the phone. On the next sync, the mail comes back as it hasn't deleted off the server. I also verify that while being logged into the mail server at the time.

I solved my lack-of-delete with my IMAP accounts by moving all my mail to a Gmail account. And Gmail allows you to keep your old email address making the whole process very transparent. My recipients have no idea that I am using a Gmail account.

I have the added advantage that Gmail has excellent spam filters, hundreds of times more efficient that spam assassin that I was previously using.
