I am using the new 3.1 and I really like it. But the HTC PDF Viewer, which I really use quite a bit, is gone. I assumed that I would be able to simply toggle it on/off using Virtuous Buddy, but it's completely gone. I presume that it is there in the system/app folder in a nandroid backup of the stock rom, but Titanium Backup will only backup the data, and not the APK itself, so there's no easy way for me to restore it.

Is there a way to obtain a copy of the APK (and any needed settings files) and to reinstall it/them?

Thanks for any help,

demlv

in the newest 10/13 Froyo release HTC PDF is removed and Adobe Reader is installed stock.

OH MY GOD does that suck. I haven't installed Virtuous v3.1 yet as I've been waiting to make sure there are no big issues but that seriously aggravates me. Are there any good alternatives to Adobe's terrible PDF reader?

The alternative was HTC's PDF Viewer. It worked, and I think it was less than 100 kb in size. The fact that we are now exected to use Adobe Reader (well over 1 mb) shows why I STILL WANT TO KNOW how to get a copy of the HTC PDF Viewer app and reinstall it.

I am right with you delmv. The HTC PDFViewer worked well. I tried extracting it from the previous stock Froyo release .zip file and installing it manually but it just fails.
