    Hello,

I am one of the millions impacted by the new restrictions on kitkat regarding the write protection of SD cards.

My old sd card as everyone elses is read only mode and I was wondering it there is any tool I can use to completly delete it and use it again. I have tried formatting, resetting attributes and such and the only thing left for me to do is to void my warranty and root my phone, which I am not willing to give Google the pleasure of that.

Has anyone found a tool that can format an SD card which has been blocked by android?

    Thanks

P.S. I hate Google for this.

If you reformat the card in a PC or laptop it should be good as new unless the card is defective. Google has nothing to do with your problem.

Not really, it is fine, I can read from it and all. The problem is that when I try to reformat it, it keeps telling me it is write protected and it is not the switch.
