I've found a few sites that provide instructions on how to do this but I either don't have one of the selections listed or I don't have the "free up storage" feature that is listed.

This is my phone:

LGL164VL Rev 1.0

Android ver 7.0

Software ver L164V10a

How do I free up some of my storage? I'm getting a message that I need to do it or I may have trouble with the functioning of my phone.

thanks,
mike

don't expect much from a phone with 16 gigs of storage (about only 9 gigs are actually avaliable would be my guess) and 1.5 gigs of ram.
https://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-L64VL-fiesta

16gigs these days is nothing, especially because you will not get all of the 16gigs. some of that space is for the android os....so....you are actually looking at about 9 gigs or so for apps and data. that is like nothing.

plus your phone came out in 2017......its time to move on my friend. there are plenty of new budgets phones that have better specs that what you have now.

the only other thing i can think of is to get an sd card and format it as internal. this should make more room on your phone. i believe your phone should be able to do it.

Probably best to find what's actually using the storage, like is it apps, games, photos, videos, music, etc?
Try DiskUsage, that might give you an idea of what can be deleted, or copied off to a computer, etc.

I don't know the "LGL164VL Rev 1.0". Like how much total internal storage does it actually have?

Just 16 GB. I don't do much with my phone other than texting, taking pictures (which I mostly move to my laptop)

and occasionally internet browsing.

INTERNAL STORAGE:
Available 1.03 GB, Apps 6.49 GB, Images 400 MB, Videos 0B, Audio 1.02 MB Other 2.00 GB

Having said that, I probably should upgrade. I'll check out the DiskUsage thing.

Thanks!

Yes you are right, in these days phone storage should be huge as android systems are consuming more and more space.

well.....they are. its just like with anything now days. the more room you want, the more expensive it will be. my z fold 3 which costs me $1700 has 256 gigs of internal storage with 12 gigs of ram. i never have to worry about space on my phone. it is only half full.....lol
