Help How to get my contacts from gmail to phone?

So I've had my desire for probably a year now and decided to delete all the contacts in my phone (since there were 500+ contacts in there) and i really just need the 300 in my gmail contacts.

Now i can't figure out how to get the contacts from gmail to sync back to my phone.. smart huh?

if i go into Menu > Settings > Accounts & Sync > select my gmail account that i want to sync contacts with > Sync Now > I get a red exclaimation point next to Sync Contacts and a note down the bottom that says Sync is currently experiencing problems. It will be back up shortly.

Any ideas? If not i'm going to remove the account and readd it.. its the only other thing i can think of to do unless someone else can point me in the right direction?

One easy way is to go to your Gmail contacts on PC, and export them as a CSV file. Copy it to SD card, then on the phone go to Contacts and import this CSV file under your Google account.

Thanks, i think its fixed with this solution i found... its just syncing now
