I just flashed to cm6 but I still have the partition created when flashing to Icarus. Does anybody know how to get rid of it since I won't be needing it anymore

Thanks before hand. All help appreciated

I don't have a card adapter. Any other way that I could format it. Should I plug it in to the computer then format it while connected?

Hook it up to your computer and copy all the files. Then unmount it and format your card through the SD settings menu.

Don't do this! Cm6 will leave you with a blank card! As in no format!

Go to any radioshack, wallmart/greens or any cell store/kiosk and drop 5 or 10 bucks on a card reader. You may find a good deal and get a spare 2g card for 10.

    Either way don't use cm6.

You can use any thing that reads a microsd to format also.

I was about to do it hehe. My computer doesn't have the port for sd adapters that's why i was wondering if there's another way to format it besides using sd adapters

I got a card reader for $12 that reads anything. Got it at walgreens. 16 in 1 or something like that. Connects via an included USB.

What would happen if the sd card was formatted using CWM Recovery? Maybe use CM6 to format the card to blank, then use CMW Recovery to format sdcard?

It won't let you. For me, It did not let me format it through CWM. It's better, safer and less problematic to just get yourself a cheap SD reader like Toke said. You might need it on a later date anyways. Just remember to format it to Fat32 and NOT NTFS.

Using CMR 2? When you install Icarus, the instructions tell you to format your sd card and it works fine.

Btw, I have adapters for my sd card, so I'm just asking questions to see if it will work.

Edit: I meant CWM 2 lol.

I still have 2.5.1.8 but, I was trying through cm6 and cm7. Neither one would let me format the card, Much less the ext. X_X I ended up formatting it on the computer.

Also, When you format the card PRE-Icarus you are usually stock/rooted. Once the Sd-Ext is already there it gives you problems if you switch roms. At least mine did.

have to remember just cause it says its a 2GB dont mean there actually 2GB useable. Mine is 1.72GB

Seen this with PC harddrives as well, always shy a few GB.

if you are worried about 10mb then try the secure wipe.
