How to get Skype on a pad?

I have a great little generic 7" Android pad that came with Skype preloaded but not working. I figured the best plan was to delete Skype and start again.
Problem is, I can't download Skype from the Market because "there is no phone number associated with this phone". And I can't get it from the Skype site because they ask a phone number to install to.

How can I put Skype on my pad?

just google for Skype QR, and use barcode reader is the easiest way

If you have to go hardcore about it, you can factory reset the tablet.

Give someone else's phone number if you have someone who can trust you and download the latest copy of skype software for your pad. Hope it helps solve your problem.
