    Tried the Market App.

If you cant see the app. then just go ahead and install 2.1 for ur phone either the EU.
A friend bought the Milestone from Dubai that didn't come with the market app once the ROM was changed it was fine.
TIP: Use Official only, as you don't seem the rooting type.

How to change ROMs for Milestone (if phone different, search forum):
use this site to get Official ROMs:
    motorola_milestone:sbf [And Developers]
& this site for the instructions (Takes about 5-10 min):

There shold be an app on your phone calld Market.
You can use it on wifi (usually free) or the mobile data, this cost extra, not to use the app but the traffic you generate on your mobile nettwork, see your provider for rates.

Depending on where you are, Market will give you access to only free apps or both free and paid for.

You can also browse the web for android apps, note - it has to support android 1.6 as the phone uses this version (2.1 is coming in Q3 this year).
From the web you can then use the NeoReader app on your phone to scan the 2d bar-code from the screen (they look like this NeoReader: Download mobile content ) then the phone will start download the app.

Another option is to install appInstaller.
You can now download from the web to your computer different apps you find, copy them to the SD card on your phone (connect it via usb cable and enable filetransfer to the phone) run appInstaller and it will install your new app.

FahdR mention to upgrade your phone, as there's no root'ed rom's out there yet and no other updates from Sony Ericsson, you'll just have to wait until they release android 2.1 for it later this year.

Switch on your wifi. Tap "Market" @ home screen. There you are. Simple.
