Hi, I have a Milestone 2 and I use this app:

    https://market.android.com/details?id=i4nc4mp.myLock

to lock the touch screen during a call. This is because, with every single touchscreen smartphone I ever tried, Android or not, I always find myself ending the call or changing some setting touching the screen with my ear. This app is great and solves my problem, but it requires pushing the camera button to unlock the screen when I want to end a call. Since I understand the Droid 3 does not have a camera button:

is there a way to remap another button (eg volume rocker) to act like the camera button?

    or

is there another similar app which would not require a camera button?

    Thanks.

PS I understand most users probably do not have this problem, but after years and years of trying I have come to realise it's better to find a way to lock the screen than to surgically alter my ears so they don't get in the way

    Hi
If you look at the top of your phone, there are two sensors near the forward facing camera which sense your faces proximity and lock the screen

Hi, I know this very very well. Every single touchscreen phone I ever used had this sensor, however, for some reason, it never worked 100% and I always ended up changing some setting or ending the call by touching the screen with the ear. When I say this most people tend not to believe me, or to think that I don't know how to correctly place the phone near my ear. For all I know, I may well be the only individual on the planet with this problem (although reading this forum suggests I'm not), but I am interested in understanding if there is a way to lock the screen during a call in a phone like the Droid 3 which does not have a camera button.
