These instructions were copied from the HOW-to included with the MR1 update...so ALL credit goes to the person that included them with the MR1!!! :)

Just curious... Why post something that's included in the upgrade file itself ?

Some people may be scared to update...and this is a nice reference to people like me as well, who want to know the process BEFORE downloading the file ;)

But downloading the file doesn't mean you have to update your Eris. Hehe

I am just trying to be helpful...I don't understand what is wrong with my thread???

Just giving you a hard time. Thought it was a bit odd to start a thread containing installation instructions that are readily available.

You know, I don't want to sound harsh...but, there are newbs like ME that do find these instructions helpful. Seems, like people on this site are not so friendly. If you don't find these useful, just skip the thread and go onto the next one. There are many things that get repeated, many identical threads that get started and so on, but that doesn't mean that people deserve to be flamed. Check droid forums, there are same exact instructions that exist, and no biggie, people use them. I am done venting....if people find these helpful, great...if not, then mods can delete this thread, and done deal. :)

Good Morning everyone. Ok first things first if you dont feel comfortable doing this dont. Nobody wants to hear how your pantys are in a bunch. If you are comfortable this is the bomb. Coming from BB i was used to loading os every few days. This was easier imo than doing the blackberry upgrade.

When you do this its wipes everything do a back up first.

I did this at 7:00 am so dont have a good set of findings and fixes yet after 24 hrs i will post some info.

Thanks...was able to manually update my phone yesterday. Wife just got her OTA update this morning. The only unfortunate part is that both phones will have to be exchanged due to issues we are having with it.
