unless the old phone, and the new phone, are both Rooted,

the simple answer is "You can't".

    sorry.

Just a thought here, why not plug the old device into a computer, save the files you want to the desktop...plug the new device in, then transfer the files to the same location on the new device?

This might do the trick,if the app is indeed compatible with one &/or both devices:
    Motorola Migrate supports migration FROM:
Phones on Android 2.2 Froyo through Android 5.1 Lollipop.

@Mikestony I'm finding it difficult to even transfer pics, music onto laptop from phone since I updated the software. I think it will be the same with my downloads too.

Another thing, I was thinking of giving this 2nd gen phone away to a family member or even sell it but I'm worried about all my personal info thatll be left on the hard drive. Is there anyway of cleaning the whole phone so if I give it away or sell, I won't have no worries about bank details or other very personal information being seen.

Experts say the best thing to do is smash the old phone to prevent any personal data loss. That's if you're planning on selling it. So just don't sell it.

Have you set your phone to connect as mass storage?
