    Hello all,

I signed out of my Google account ("Account 1") on my phone and removed it as an account on my phone. I then signed in to a different Google account of mine ("Account 2"), on my phone.

A later day, on a computer, I changed the password for Account 1. My phone popped up with a message telling me that the password has recently been changed for Account 1.

I have signed in to Account 1 via a Web browser on both my phone and on a computer to try to remove all assosciation of my Google Account 1 with my phone, but have not been able to figure out how to do so. I did also search the Web for an answer, but found nothing.

    I will appreciate support, please.

What sort of message popped up? For example, if it was an SMS it was probably because you linked your phone number to the account. If it was an email then did you give the second account as a security link for the first. There are different ways it could be associated, but my guess is to go through all of the settings of the first account, especially any security settings.

You go into settings --> accounts --> Google and tap on the three vertical dots on the top right of the screen, there should be an option to remove account. (This is for vanilla Android 7)

    to delete account #1
    1. go to gmail on your computer
    2. click on the grid
    3. click on accounts
    4. left hand menu select data and personalization
    5. scroll down til you see download, delete, or make a plan for your data
    6. select delete a service or your account

if you do not want to delete the account, then to disassociate your account from phone, you will have to delete your phone from account #1 by managing your device.

    1. go to gmail
    2. right corner click on the grid
    3. select account
    4. on the left hand menu select security
    5. scroll down til you see your devices
    6. select manage devices
    7. find your phone that is associated with account #1 and delete it.

OK, so it sounds like you did change the Google account over (from Account1 to Account2) successfully. The problem could be while that applies to your phone (Play Store, device tracking, etc. should now be tied to Account2) that doesn't necessarily mean all your installed apps have been changed over too.

Apps/services directly tied to the user account (in this case, your Account2) will be automatically changed over but a lot of apps are based on the user login/password that you initially set up for them to use. An example being an email app will be using your email address/password as authentication -- it could be your primary Gmail account, a secondary Gmail account, or a completely different email service (i.e. Outlook, Yahoo Mail, etc.) as you can set up any email service as your default.
So just to repeat what @Hadron asked, what was the source of that message that popped up? It could be just a matter of going into the Settings menu of that app to change it accordingly.
