Does anyone know how to remove certain language packs from a rom?
Yep, done it a few times myself.
You need to use APKTool to decompile the .APK's in the ROM and then remove the language files manually. Then use APKTool to compile the new .APK and your good to go.
You can always PM me if you run into a snag
By language files,do u mean those values folders u see when decompiling framework. Like "values-es"??
Cuz I have tried removing all but English but once I try to compile after removing them,I get error, check log.
??? Any idea why?
Yes, the values folders.
You generally dont wanna go playing around in the framework itself. The language files that need to be removed are in the applications themselves.
For example, the choices of languages during setup are within the setup.apk file itself.
So what about all the languages that are in the values inside framework? ? There's no way to remove them too? I've tried a couple different ways with no luck.
I'm building my ROM now, after I flash it I'll play around in the framework to see what can be done.
Theres LOTS of stuff to remove in the framework-res.apk, but upon removal I get a bunch of errors when trying to recompile.
Whatevers in there is past my knowledge.
anyone know ?
