I've grown tired of the old stocklike rom I've been using and decided to try something more modern. Lite a Sense 4.1, but all current guides seems to suggest replacing the bundled Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 recovery with 4EXT Recovery Touch ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1408936 ).

What is the easiest way for me to install this 4EXT recovery replacing Revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 recovery?

Is 4ext still the recommended recovery 'app'

If you are happy with your recovery there should be no need to change. However 4ext has a few advantages.

Just follow this guide.
http://androidforums.com/desire-hd-all-things-root/631481-4ext-recovery-how.html

The steps are essentially:

download 4ext updater. apk file from the xda link.

put it on your SD card.

install it from your SD.

run the app & follow the prompts. You should select the touch recovery option. You will be asked to confirm that app has detected the correct type of phone. if it has not do not proceed any further.

That's it.
