What are ways I can preserve my battery?
And how can I turn off widgets that are making my battery life eat up fast
I use face, tumblr, myspace, tunewiki, seesmic, and handcent most.

That probably isn't the right attitude if you're looking for help. There ARE stickied threads for a reason and its a bit difficult to miss considering their at the top before any other thread. As someone else suggested, why don't you take a look at that beforehand, since they're there for good reason.

Wasn't trying to be that mean! But most noobs with only 2 posts usualy just come spam the forum till they get an answer and leave. There are 10 threads a day posted on battery life. Just makes it simple for all of us if we don't have to sort through 4 pages to find a thread, because of all the battery topics. Just saying, you own a google phone! Search.
