General how to setup voicemail? dial *86 and just get busy signal

    same carrier, same phone number, just a new phone - the eris

    how do i setup my voicemail? i tried going into voicemail settings and doing the "*86ppXXXX#" thing and then called *86, but I just get a busy signal forever.

    what do i need to do?

    Hmm, it works for me. But I only use one p. And I add p1 at the end too.

    If you just dial *22899 and press the call button I believe it will program and set it up itself.

    Call Verizon.

    *86 shouldn't give you a busy signal. That's outrageous.

    The other way you could possibly get your voice mail is to call your number, and press either * or #, I forget. I don't know if you can set it up that way though.

    I'd call Verizon and let them know about the busy signal. Something isn't right there.
