Not sure how you would do that. Even when you plug into a wall outlet, the phone gets the power the same way.

I was wondering why you would want to stop charging with usb ?

    wholesale
    pickering, ontario
Hold phone with one hand and gently pull the usb cable out of the phone socket

The type of battery in your phone works better when charged often, so don't worry about leaving it plugged in

Sorry I kniow this is an old thread but I was wondering the same thing as the original poster - can you stop the phone from charging over USB? I've never been a fan of constantly charging devices... thanks.

Hi there, has anyone found a solution for this in Android? I'm looking for a way to keep my Milestone from charging itself while tethered, because it runs down the laptop battery extremely quickly (charges at the max current the USB port will provide, which amounts to about 2 hours less laptop battery life)... Obviously it still needs to be able to charge when the laptop is on mains power... Any ideas?
