    I have Android - kernel 2.6.32.9 with build # 4.5.1_57_DX5-35.
And the basic android touch keyboard. I general I love the phone - device.
What drives me crazy about sending email is it's badly autocorrection of what I am typing ... For example I sent an email saying I'll see you at the WTC to a tennis friend and he wrote back saying Where is the ETC?
WTC is a tennis club and ETC must mean "etc." obviously but that's not what I wanted to say. Many other cases where it has messed my emails have occurred. Any idea how to turn spell checker off?

I believe you are looking for Quick fixes.

You could also add words like you mentioned to your dictionary, just press on the non-orange word to the left, should be what you entered, tap it once to keep, then again to save to dictionary.
