I have an LG Optimus V. How do I 'undo' a 'force stop' on 'Account and Sync Settings'?

Steps I did for the 'force stop:'

    Home
    Manage Applications
    Running
    Account and Sync Settings
    Force Stop

Now the Account and Sync Settings only shows up under 'All' and I cannot reactivate it.

No one seems to have an answer, including Tech Support @ Virgin Mobile. Is it possible to get this application running again? If not, what are my options?

I'm guessing you tried rebooting the phone, or turning it off for a moment and then turning it back on, or removing the SD card and putting it back in? Sorry to ask, you didn't mention trying these things.

If you can't get it running again, then I would factory reset the phone.

I don't see why this is a problem. Mine is just like that and always has been as far as I can tell.

Some people like to have all of the functions working properly on their phones.

What function does this app perform? I am unaware of anything I use not working properly. I'd like a useful answer please.

It syncs your Gmail, Facebook, Twitter or whatever account you add that you want synced. If it's not turned on, then it wont grab the information from your account and update it on your phone. The ops (ducatielle) Sync is not working since he/she force closed it.. he/she cannot get it to turn back on.

Mine is greyed out as ωell.

Edited: I've no idea why it is greyed out, because I'm still getting Gmail notification.

Try this.. I've no idea if it will work or not!

Add the default Power Settings widget on your phones desktop. Try to toggle the Sync setting from there so that it's on. Now see if its still grayed out under the regular settings.

I know this because I have these options available to me on my phone just like the other two phones in my house.

Try opening the app from My Apps in Playstore. Open Playstore, click top left and select My Apps, scroll down the list of your unstalled apps, select the one you want and you should see an option to open it. Do so and if you're lucky, it will open and undo the force stop at the same time. It worked for me - hope it does for you!
