Metro said I had to unlock it. They were wrong, you are right.

When you buy it from Google it comes unlocked.

But when bought from a carrier the Nexus 5 will be locked.

The Nexus 5 comes unlocked from Google Play. The guy tried switching my Nexus 4 to the Nexus 5 and told me it was locked. It turned out he screwed the sim card up when he took it out of the Nexus 4. He tried to charge me for another sim card until I flipped out on him. This was in a corp store also. Thought I would share this with everyone who may read this.

If you were me, I'd go to their Faceplant page, message them and nail his ass to the cross. Store location, employee name, nails through both hands and feet.

    Don't get mad.

    Get even. :smokingsomb:

How did he damage the sim card removing it?
Im just curious because unless he used a chain saw he may not have realized he damaged it.

Once again we talk about the lack of training they have.
The Nexus 5 just came out and he may have just figured that since it was working in your N4 that it must be locked.

I agree, I would show disconcern for the situation also.
What does a sim cost. $10

I would not go as far to defame him over facebook aka faceplant.
Pick your battles and this would certainly not be one of them.

Think about his children and family if he lost his job over a minor mistake, even if it was his fault or not.

    Thank you
