Help How to update swype?

How do I update swype to the latest beta? It says I need to remove the current version first but since it is included in the X, how do I do this? Do I just rename or delete the apk with root explorer?

I believe it's for the people that do not have it pre-installed on their device, but I'd like to confirm this either way.

I would rename to .bak and move it to a safe place. This will essentially uninstall it.

I don't understand why, this is the second time I've seen this so maybe there is something I don't know. Swype is optimized for each device and to my knowledge the only swype made for the droid x is the one that comes preinstalled. Plus betas are betas and run out so if your intention is to use a different swype rename it.
