How to upgrade android software?

i want to know is how to do upgrade anddroid
i have is
2.3.6

Typically if you have a Samsung device you can download the Kies software, with this tool it will allow you to update your device to the lastest version of android, if it is available.

With HTC I know you can use HTC Sync, I believe but am not 100%.

If anything I would suggest to contact your carrier, because they are usually in charge of releasing updates to your device.

Could you tell us what phone you have?

Go to: Menu > Settings > About phone > System updates. If an official update is available it will be downloaded and installed.
