I think it meant the internal SD storage on the Galaxy.

There is only internal storage, I know :)
But what is the name of this storage?

Your stock video player can't play this .wmv format.
Install a video player like MoboPlayer which can play this format and will scan the storage for videos.

    Good luck!

EDIT: Oh, gmail attachment, hope this doesn't remain on Google server :(

RockPlayer and arcMedia play .wmv too on my phone.
But there is only a file explorer, not that nice scan function like with MoboPlayer.

Maybe you should first make sure that the files are downloaded on your phone at all.

I would search with my file manager (EStrongs File Explorer), it has a search function. Search the storage with "wmv" (not with "*.wmv"!).

With trying to open the attachment the video should be downloaded, but I'm not sure.

Did you try the search with file manager?

Yes it shows all the videos that i have on the phone but none of the 20 some videos that are in the gmail app
I think i need a way to download the attached videos first but not to an SDCard just to the phone

If you have an other email account on your phone you could send the mails with the videos from gmail to the other email account. I think then the download problem will vanish :)

Wish I could, but I am in the US. VZW has simply decided to bend us over without the pleasure of lube or a reach around. Until we get it, can't be of any help.

Please keep us updated. According to what I've read, despite the lack of an SD card on the GNex, there is an /sdcard directory that is "mounted" as a drive, i.e. the OS should still present /sdcard as a valid drive to save to if that's where your application is trying to save it. And I'd imagine the current version of Gmail fully supports Android 4.0, so this shouldn't even be a problem.

As for trouble installing an app, there could be a temporary problem with compatibility with 4.0 and older apps, so a little patience could be necessary.

But like I said, please keep us filled in on this thread -- these are both items of interest to me.

There is thread from a Galaxy S owner who have a similar problem.

It seems to be a general Android problem: Gmail with a video attachment which can't played with the phone's stock player, can't be downloaded.

There are apps in Market which are able to download Gmail attachments on a phone's SD card.
So the internal storage of the Galaxy Nexus is named SDcard but this apps can't download to it?

Also, perhaps try K-9 Mail to read your gmail?

I believe that K-9 (like other 3rd party mail clients) will allow you to download your wmv attachments.

I use the HTC Mail client myself, very very similar to K-9. I get a widget to allow me to download, and when the wmv download completes, I long-press the wmv widget in the email to select my player (I use Meridian myself).

    Hope this works for you.
