I built my daughter a "stage" in her room (raised platform in dormer window alcove, lighting bar with four spot lamps, and "stage drawstring curtains") she requested when she was 9. It now has bean bags on it and she flops in it to read by natural light from the window. She says she still likes it, but her mother and I no longer watch mini monologues or plays set up with her two cousins. She is growing up & (bittersweet)
