I was lucky to pick up a new HTC EVO from Radio Shack on Friday and kicked the Palm Pre to the curb. I love the amazingly fast boot up time - 45 seconds versus 10 minutes! Plus everything else opens up quickly too!
I do miss the gestures to switch between apps and close them out, maybe someone will develop an app to bring that to the droid OS.
