    Strange that I keep getting slow Uploads sometimes. All of these were taken in the same spot.

    After 4.1.83 update, fastest speed test has been;

    5.53 mb down / 1.25 mb up

    Slolwest has been;

    1.87 mb down / 1.04 mb up

    I'd say average has been;

    2.35 mb down / 1.20 mb up

    Oh and I almost forgot, I did get a 5ms ping one time.

    Before the update my last 4 speed tests were in the 4.0 mbps to 4.8 mbps range download and exactly 0.35 mbps EVERY time.

    After the update I got 0.51 mbps down and 1.19 mbps up.

    Um, that seems odd.

    I'm in Newton. Do you know how to tell if the HSPA+ backhaul is deployed in our area? I am only getting 2dl/.5ul

    same thing happened to me. i called AT&T and had them reprovision my connection per the suggestion of someone at motorola. seems to have helped a little.

    Okay, after the bad speed test I talked about, I just turned the phone off, and turned it back on. I got the best speed test I've had since I got the phone.

    5+ Mbps download, and 1.30 Mbps upload.

    The Microcell unit connects to ATT via the broadband, but the phone still connects to the Microcell unit via cellular.

    I have been consistently getting around 6.5 d/l 1.1 u/l and under 100 ms ping here in North Dallas. I'm happy with that.

    But the speed test you get are actually using WiFi speeds. When connected to the MicroCell, you are not on AT&T's network, hence why you don't get charged minutes when using it.

    I just checked the coverage MAP in ATT (it covers most of nearby Boston areas) but I don't think HSPA+ is fully deployed over here...
    Though few places I even got uptoo 5.6 Mbps/1.3Mbps speed around westboro, Natick and framingham town ...
    but at my work place I get pathetic speed of ~700 up and down

    Nice! Wish I would get that in Fort Worth. My average speeds were staying at 2.35mbs down & 1.20mbs up. Now late evening yesterday and all day today I'm lucky to get 1.05 down & .95 up. Good thing I'm still in my 30 day period, if this doesn't improve I might have to go with another provider or device!

    You're good. I'm averaging 3 mbps down and 1.25 up.

    There seems to be a cap at 1.25 up for me.

    Latency has been considerably improved which is what makes the real difference.

    Yeah I get a lot of the single digit ping times in Philly. Just no download speed. :rolleyes:

    Northern VA across from DC:

    down up ping
    3163 1232 87
    4206 1662 89
    3000 240 203
    941 220 310
    3174 207 93
    450 60 422

    Very inconsistent depending on location and time of day. These numbers are from around the area. It's the lowest at home :(

    But my WiFi/FIOS is 25Gbps, so I don't care much about the AT&T network data speeds at home. :)

    Pre-patch it was DL 900Kbps to 1.2Mbps, upload was 125Kbps to 300Kbps, after patch my DL speeds went to 200Kbps to 400Kbps and my upload went to 700Kbps to 950Kbps. So in summary, DL shot, upload fixed. Great...../s

    i noticed my up and down speeds increased when i flashed the Telstra SBF radio.

    I think that some of us need to keep in mind that there is such a thing as peek times, plus with more and more people moving to smartphones the carriers are fighting to handle the demand of data.

    At some times i can get 5mb/s down and 1.7mb/s up

    Other times i can only get 1mb/s down and 63kb/s up

    So it will vary.
